For those who have worked with me, you know one of my favorite things is creating frameworks and models. I’m a visual and systems thinker — dare I say, it’s a bit of a superpower.
In a recent conversation with a client about AI, I was reminded of a framework we developed for our webinar on 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗜, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗢𝗜 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀. (If you’re interested, here’s the link to the recording: https://lnkd.in/gu4M9evD).
This framework lays out the different 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 and the 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 associated with each. While it may be too basic for advanced practitioners, we’ve found it’s been especially helpful for teams just starting to understand and think about using AI in their businesses.
One key reminder: at the heart of all AI is prediction — but that prediction is based on the past. While AI can be a powerful tool, I remain cautious about its ability (at least for now) to handle 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 or 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆. It’s an important consideration as you think about integrating AI into your innovation efforts.
